Donate at the Post 401 Veterans Drive Kyle, now through March 1
Nelia Barerra is collecting hoodies to give to The Hays Clothes Closet. There is a box for donations of hoodies, not necessarily new ones, at the Post and she asks that if you would like to participate to please drop off your hoodies Saturday  (now through March 1) when you join the Vets for breakfast.
If you have children or grandchildren who have grown out of their many hoodies, please do pass them on to Nelia.

From: Kevin Solka <ksolka@lbjfoundation.org>
Subject: Re: Honoring Vietnam Veterans | LBJ Library

Hope all is well! As a reminder, we’re hosting an informal lunch on Thursday, January 23rd, at 11:30 AM at the LBJ Presidential Library. This gathering is an opportunity for Vietnam veterans to share valuable feedback as we prepare programming to commemorate Vietnam Veterans Day (March 29th) and the 50th anniversary of the end of the Vietnam War (April 30th).

We’d be honored to have a Vietnam veteran from your organization join us for this meaningful conversation. If someone is interested in attending, please have them sign-up by this Sunday, January 19th. They can register using the following link: https://forms.gle/4EKs2xyLhKZ4KfCG7. If you have any questions or need more information, feel free to reach out. We look forward to hearing from you!

Thanks in advance,
Kevin Solka

LBJ Presidential Library in Austin, TX. We recently had an exhibit open about the Vietnam War, "Ain’t No Daylight in Vietnam: March ’68", that looks at some of the more personal aspects of the war, especially for those who served in Vietnam. I wanted to invite anyone from Central Texas American Veterans Post 115 that might be interested in viewing the exhibit. If people would like, we can also set-up group private tours.

Welcome home, brother...*

Whether you are a member or guest, veteran or not,
this is our "home".   Let's treat it as such.

Our post has been undergoing some recent building, cleaning and
other maintenance.   Please help us keep it clean and safe.

  • Please clean up after yourself.

  • Please do not smoke in or near the post building.
According to Texas law, it is an offense to smoke in an enclosed area in a public building
or within 15 feet from an entrance or openable window.

   * ... and sister.   This is the regular greeting of our Post Commander and it seems to be spreading.
